SEP participated in the Toronto and York Region Labour Council Chinese Workers’ Network’s Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 25.
About 230 people attended this year’s banquet. Members from IESO, OEB, OPG, Hydro One, and Inergi were seated at the SEP table. Other unions present included Unifor, OPSEU, CUPE, UFCW and SEIU.
The evening was lively with a fun question and answer session about workers’ rights and the need for labour law reform. There were also musical performances and labour council launched a new Chinese podcast featuring stories about workers and workplace rights.
