The Society's Secretary-Treasurer, Laurie Reid, presented at the Ontario Legislature's Committee on the Interior to speak against the government's proposed Bill 165. The bill seeks to heavy-handedly overrule an OEB regulatory decision. The Society provided a written submission and a presentation which laid out the Society's opposition to the bill.
As a senior advisor at the OEB for more than 20 years, Laurie provided the committee with the Society's arguments and was able to give valuable context to the OEB's decision-making processes and the importance of an independent regulatory regime in Ontario's electricity sector.
