SEP marched in Pride parades

June 27, 2017

The Society celebrated Pride with members marching in the Toronto and Kincardine Pride Parades. In both parades SEP was part of the contingent of union members from a wide range of unions and labour organizations.

The Canadian union movement joins others in communities across Canada to celebrate Pride and support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirited (LGBTQ2) equality and justice. While Pride is a time to celebrate, it is also a time for reflection and activism. The marchers were pleased to be representing The Society.

Every year, Pride is celebrated in the month of June in Canada and around the world. SEP participation in Pride is part of the ongoing LGBTQ2 initiative that was launched earlier this year. To get involved in SEP’s LGBTQ2 advocacy work, contact Cindy Roks.
