The Ontario Federation of Labour and Ontario Common Front held a rally at the Ontario legislature on February 1 to protest a range of policies that threaten working Ontarians’ families and communities. The protest coincided with the beginning of the Ontario government’s 2016 budget consultations. Hundreds turned out for the demonstration, including many Society members.
Among the issues at the forefront of the rally were hospital cuts, hydro privatization, student debt and rising inequality. The rally featured speakers from around Ontario who talked about how these issues are affecting them, their families and their communities.
