Deals Struck

August 31, 2013

Several locals have bargained a new collective agreement or had a new collective agreement imposed through arbitration since the last edition of The Society’s E-News. Over the spring and summer, members at IESO, Hydro One, OPG, NWMO and NSS have all entered into new collective agreements with their respective employers.

Given the recessionary bargaining climate that workers across the globe are negotiating in, that members were largely able to hold the line and in many cases gain economic increases to their wages is a big win compared to many of our brothers and sisters in other parts of the labour movement and especially the public sector.
New Horizons and Kinectrics are heading into negotiations soon so watch The Society E-News and your local newsletter for updates.
