Society President Michelle Johnston led the Society delegation to the Canadian Nuclear Association’s (CNA) 2024 Conference. The president chaired a panel on Supporting the Next Generation Nuclear Workforce, and met with the federal Conservative Nuclear Caucus.
The Society was very pleased to see that federal Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Jonathan Wilkinson announced $50 Million in funds for the impact assessment at Site C at the Bruce Power facility. This is an important step in seeing this project come to fruition.
The Society’s delegation had the opportunity to talk with many attendees at the Society’s booth about the importance of nuclear workers and our made-in-Canada CANDU nuclear supply chain. We were also glad to engage once again with Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith.
