The Canadian Labour Congress, the national voice of organized labour in Canada, has launched a new campaign that aims to shape the national agenda around the issues everyday Canadians face in their lives, including retirement security, health care, child care, and good jobs.
The Better Choice campaign proposes:
- Expanding the Canada Pension Plan to help every senior, including those that didn’t retire with a workplace pension
- Investing in health and long-term care, including a national drug program
- Creating a national childcare plan that makes high-quality, regulated care available to all families at an affordable price
- Developing a good jobs plan that leverages public infrastructure investment to create new training and job opportunities
The release of this awareness campaign comes months before Canadians head to the polls in October’s federal election.
