The Society, in partnership with the IFPTE, were proud to once again join young nuclear professionals from across North America at the 2025 NAYGN Continental Conference. The conference is a showcase of advocacy on behalf of nuclear energy including important speakers from across the sector, professional development sessions, soft skills training, technical discussions, and networking with industry leaders.

The Society staffed a booth where we helped emphasize the importance of unionization for young workers entering the sector, and the benefits of having a union supporting your career development.
NWMO Local Vice-President Mike Borelli spoke on a panel called Nuclear in My Backyard: Importance of Consent-Based Siting which explored the critical role of consent-based siting in the development of new nuclear projects. Mike spoke on his experience engaging communities and obtaining their consent in order to more successfully and sustainably site new nuclear energy projects.
