The Society was again out in force at the 2025 OFL Convention. Our delegation of 35 members, Local leaders, Principal Officers, and staff participated in networking, workshops, and lively debates on important issues for unions and the broader labour movement.
The Society brought two resolutions to the Convention: A resolution on preparing for the impacts of AI, and a resolution on protecting remote work. We were pleased to see the resolution on remote work debated and passed on the floor of the convention.
Additionally, the Society would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to our Pride and Solidarity Chair and LAO member Morgan Koch, who was awarded the OFL’s Solidarity and Pride Champion Award. Morgan has been a fierce advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ members and a major player in the labour movement fighting for queer and trans rights, equity, inclusivity, and respect. Morgan was also elected the chair of the OFL’s Pride and Solidarity Committee.

The OFL continues to be an important venue for the Society work with our partners in Labour and to ensure that the goals of Ontario’s labour movement protect and advance the union rights of our members.
