New Electricity Sector Mentorship Platform Launched

March 23, 2021

Industry association Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) has launched a new platform called Mentor Junction to connect mentors and mentees within the sector.

“Mentor Junction is built for people of all fields in Canada's electricity sector, from students to executives. Whether you're considering a career in electricity, just getting started, or an industry veteran, you can connect and make an impact,” the program says.

EHRC sees mentorships as a way to encourage women, young workers and other underrepresented groups to join and advance within the electricity sector.

“As a young worker looking to get a foot in the door of the industry at an exciting time of change, having a mentor they can go to with questions opens up an array of professional opportunities that a junior employee or student may not be aware of. Mentorship creates equitable pathways for success by linking those who may face barriers to career advancement with their greatest resource, an experienced leader.” said Michelle Branigan, CEO of EHRC.
