On Saturday, Aug. 9, more than 700 members and their families joined the Society at Canada’s Wonderland for the Member Appreciation Day. This is the first Wonderland Day since the pandemic, and we are extremely glad to be able to once again offer this experience as a chance to say “thank you” to the members that we represent.
The event featured a complimentary barbecue buffet in the Wonderland Courtyard and discounted admission to the park. Members also received new United Professionals lanyards, while kids enjoyed stickers and a day full of fun.

“The sold-out Society Wonderland event was a resounding success as many members came out with their family and friends to enjoy the summer weather, healthy food, and an exciting Canadian amusement park. I met Society members from a wide range of employers and locations. The event gave members a chance to connect with their union and reinforced the value of membership. Kudos to the Society’s central organizing committee on this initiative!”

A special thank-you goes to Laura Langmaid, Society Member Services Officer, who coordinated all the arrangements. The hot buffet lunch was a hit, offering something for everyone while accommodating a variety of dietary needs.
