The Society has had a busy summer with bargaining at several of our Locals. Members at the Society’s Bruce Local and at the Chinese and Southeast Asian Legal Clinic both have successfully ratified new collective agreements after months of challenging bargaining. The bargaining team at the Society’s Hydro One Local has reached a tentative agreement with the employer that they have put in front of the membership and are recommending for member ratification.
Society members at the ESA Local are in the middle of very challenging bargaining talks with the employer. Society ESA Members have been strongly supportive of the bargaining team and we are hopeful that the employer will make moves towards addressing the genuine concerns of the members at ESA.
Additionally, both the Society’s OEB and LAO Locals have also been in bargaining. The OEB Local has been working towards a deal for the last year and a half. We are looking forward to productive rounds at the table and a deal soon.
The Society is proud of our record in bargaining high-quality contracts for our members while avoiding the need for job action.
