Statement on Fatal Hydro One Helicopter Crash

December 14, 2017

The Society of United Professionals issued the following statement regarding today’s fatal Hydro One helicopter crash.

The Society of United Professionals is devastated to learn of today’s Hydro One helicopter crash, in which four workers perished. We send our thoughts and prayers to all those who are mourning this horrific loss, including the family, friends and colleagues of our dear co-workers. We also extend our gratitude to the first responders who attended the scene.

Hydro One has offered support to family and colleagues at this difficult time. We encourage all who need it, including our members, to access these services through the Hydro One Employee and Family Assistance Program.

Safety is our union’s top priority. We will continue to work closely with Hydro One and other unions to learn from today’s tragedy.
