The Society was honoured to be recognized by the Toronto & York Region Labour Council with the Bromley Award for Union Excellence, recognizing the Society’s commitment to diversity and equity. We are proud to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in our organization, and in the workplaces and communities in which our members live and work.
On June 14, 2023, Labour Community Services and the Equity Committee of Toronto & York Region Labour Council hosted more than 300 labour and community members, leaders and activists to honour the legacy of Bromley Lloyd Armstrong. It was a night that acknowledged the excellent work being done in the areas of social justice, equity and human rights, as well as the work still needing to be done.
Society President Michelle Johnston accepted the award on behalf of the union.
