The Society is attending this week’s International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, themed Every Member is a Leader.
The fourteen elected representatives attending the convention hail from a variety of Society locals, including OPG, Bruce Power, Hydro One and IESO. Society principal officers Scott Travers, Michelle Johnston and Dennis Minello are also attending, as is External Relations Officer Mike Belmore.
The four-day convention is the international union’s highest decision-making body, and includes a mix of workshops, keynote speakers and decision-making meetings. It’s also an opportunity for The Society to meet and share with other professional workers’ unions about the challenges they face and best practices for confronting them.
