Society Pride & Solidarity Committee Attends Canadian Club Panel on LGBTQI+ Persecution

On June 17, the Society’s Pride & Solidarity Committee, with Secretary-Treasurer Laurie Reid, attended an important talk on the state of global LGBTQI+ persecution.

The event, hosted by the Canadian Club, featured a panel discussion moderated by Stacey Lee Kong of 3 Magazine, along with Devon Mathews and LaToya Nugent of Rainbow Railroad. The panel discussed the efforts of the organization to get endangered people to safer conditions around the world.

Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps at-risk LGBTQI+ people get to safety worldwide. Based in the United States and Canada, they are an organization that helps LGBTQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics.
