Society members turn out across the province for Labour Day

September 25, 2025

Every year, on the first Monday of September, Society members join our allies in the labour movement in Labour Day parades and picnics across the province. It is a powerful show of the strength of workers when we all march together in solidarity calling for better, safer, and fairer conditions for all workers. This year, we had impressive contingents in Toronto, Barrie, Durham, Port Elgin, Thunder Bay, and Hamilton.

What we do in the labour movement has rippling effects for all workers. The labour movement is the rising tide that lifts all ships. When we work to improve the conditions and wages for our members, all workers benefit.

Labour Day serves as an important reminder of the size and the collective strength of workers. When workers unite, we can do amazing things to build a better world.
