The Society of United Professionals took a major step in fostering communication and leadership development by officially launching its new Toastmasters chapter on December 10, 2025. The inaugural meeting, held at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, was a resounding success and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our members.
This local chapter joins a worldwide legacy: Toastmasters International was founded in October 1924, and is currently celebrating its 100th year of empowering individuals. Today, the organization has a global reach, operating over 14,000 clubs in approximately 148 countries. President John F. Kennedy once said of Toastmasters International that the skills amassed in listening, thinking and speaking more intently were “essential to democracy”.

The launch event was guided by experienced Toastmasters officials, including Eva Britton (Director of Club Growth, Toastmasters), who was instrumental in ensuring a successful launch to the Chapter.
The new chapter is led by Society member and dedicated President, Rummaan Farooq, who is featured in the photo alongside other key members and Toastmasters officials who were instrumental in the launch. Rummaan and the executive team are eager to bring the transformative experience of Toastmasters to the Society of United Professionals.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide, teaching public speaking and leadership skills. This chapter provides a supportive and positive learning environment where every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills in an safe and enjoyable atmosphere.
