2024 was the year the Society celebrated its 80th anniversary. We published 80 Years United: stories from across the decades, which documents the growth of the Society from its humble beginnings in 1944 to the organization it is today: a 10,000-strong labour union proudly representing professionals in the energy, legal, and regulatory sectors.
The book project, which captures the union’s historic milestones across 80 years, is a major contribution to Ontario labour history. Through compelling storytelling and engaging interviews, the project documents the road to unionization and the collective achievements that followed, featuring photography and other visuals from the Society archives. Ultimately, the book project is a tribute to current and past members whose impactful contributions to the union have built better workplaces and a better world.
