Society Joins Young Nuclear Workers at NAYGN Conference

July 8, 2024

Society President Michelle Johnston led a small Society delegation to the North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) Conference in North Carolina. This year, the Society was joined by representatives from the IFPTE where we networked with young nuclear workers from across the continent. For the IFPTE, this presented an excellent opportunity to find and pursue opportunities for organizing in a highly receptive audience.

The annual conference is an excellent opportunity to connect with future leaders around the nuclear industry and to educate about how strong nuclear unions benefit not only workers, but the industry as a whole. It is clear from the conversations that were had on the convention floor that young workers are highly receptive to unionization.

As always, the Society delegation left the conference having formed many new and useful relationships and feeling very positive about the future of the nuclear industry.
