Society ESA Members Ratify Agreement, End Strike

October 4, 2023

The striking Society-represented safety professionals at the Electrical Safety Authority reached a settlement with the employer after 13 days on the picket line. The members and the employer have now both voted to ratify the agreement.

The members at the ESA went on strike looking for a fair and equitable deal, and while we didn’t get everything that we hoped, we achieved far more than was possible before the strike. We are tremendously proud of the incredible resolve of our members.

The members of the Society at the ESA are some of the best professionals in their industry. They are now returning to the jobs they do so well: Supporting the electrification of Ontario’s economy and keeping the people of this province safe from electrical harm.

We are grateful for the support that we received on our picket lines from members of all our Locals, Society staff, from the public, and from our allies in the Labour Movement. Thank you for your solidarity.
