The Society was proud to have Secretary-Treasurer Laurie Reid speak as part of the Partners in Success panel at the Toronto Region Board of Trade's Electrifying Ontario's Economy event.
Laurie joined Joe Mancinelli, International Vice-President and Canadian Director of LiUNA and Jeff Parnell, the President of the Power Workers' Union to discuss the role of labour and nuclear in advancing the electrification and greening of Ontario's economy.
To meet climate targets and ensure that our economy is competitive globally, Ontario will need to double our electricity generation capacity by 2050. Addressing these challenges will require a range of solutions including a critical tool for delivering generation at large capacity and an internationally-competitive cost: nuclear.
