Please register to join us on Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27, from 12-1pm for a two-day session on Defined Benefit Pensions.
Led by the Society's pensions expert, Laura Brownell, and Education Officer Renee Laporta, the two-day pensions session will cover a wide range of topics to help provide you with tools to better manage your defined benefit pension.
The agenda for the two-day event will cover topics like:
- The History of pensions in Canada
- How pensions work
- What are the different types of pensions?
- What are the benefits and risks of each type?
- Defined Benefit plan specifics:
- How they operate
- How they are funded
- Calculations
Our intent is for the sessions to provide you with the tools to do your own retirement savings health check, and links to free resources to help calculate retirement savings and monthly payments during retirement (including your CPP, OAS, RRSP and Pension).
Please RSVP your attendance. The Zoom link for both days will be provided upon registration. Please note that the sessions will be limited to the first 200 registrants.
The sessions will be recorded and made available on the Society's e-learning platform. For those who attended last year's sessions, this year's presentation will be the same. Members can view last year's sessions on the Society's e-Learning platform.
