***PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY FULL. WE WILL BE OFFERING ADDITIONAL SESSIONS TO ACCOMMODATE OVERWHELMING DEMAND. PLEASE STAY TUNED***
Please register to join us on Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7, from 12-1pm for a two-day session on Defined Benefit Pensions.
Led by the Society's pensions expert, Laura Brownell, and Education Officer Renee Frost, the two-day pensions session will cover a wide range of topics to help provide you with tools to better manage your defined benefit pension.
The agenda for the two-day event will cover topics like:
- The History of pensions in Canada
- How pensions work
- What are the different types of pensions?
- What are the benefits and risks of each type?
- Defined Benefit plan specifics:
- How they operate
- How they are funded
- Calculations
Our intent is for the sessions to provide you with the tools to do your own retirement savings health check, and links to free resources to help calculate retirement savings and monthly payments during retirement (including your CPP, OAS, RRSP and Pension).
Please RSVP your attendance. The Zoom link for both days will be provided upon registration.
Please note that the sessions will be limited to the first 50 registrants. The sessions, however, will be recorded and made available on the Society's e-learning platform. We will also be offering additional sessions in the future for those unable to attend.
Additionally, the Society will be hosting a Defined Contribution Pension session on April 25 and 26. Please watch for the invitation to those and future sessions.
