The Ontario government has announced the appointment of Mark White as the new Chair of the Ontario Energy Board.
The Society was strongly critical of the government’s decision to overrule the OEB with Bill 165, compromising the independence of Ontario’s energy regulator. We will be watching the government’s actions very closely as it relates to the OEB and the work that our members do at the regulator.
It is of paramount importance to both the people of Ontario and to the companies and rating agencies, that Ontario’s energy regulator remains independent and free of political interference.
The Society welcomes Mr. White and hopes that his appointment will continue to provide stability and independence for the OEB.
