Throughout the week, Canadians are encouraged to support accessibility initiatives that:
- Raise awareness about accessibility and disability inclusion
- Celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities
- Promote barrier-free communities, workplaces, and services
- Encourage meaningful conversations and actions toward inclusion
How You Can Participate
Take a moment to reflect on the spaces you visit every day; at work, in your community, or within public services. Consider questions like:
- Are entrances, doors, and washrooms accessible to everyone?
- Are reception areas welcoming and easy to navigate for all visitors, including those who are seated?
- Are documents, websites, and services designed to be accessible for all members of the public?
If you notice barriers or opportunities for improvement, speak up and help encourage positive change.
