National AccessAbility Week | May 31 – June 6, 2026

May 22, 2026

National AccessAbility Week is a time to recognize the contributions and achievements of Canadians with disabilities while promoting accessibility and inclusion in our communities, workplaces, and everyday spaces.

Throughout the week, Canadians are encouraged to support accessibility initiatives that:

  • Raise awareness about accessibility and disability inclusion
  • Celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities
  • Promote barrier-free communities, workplaces, and services
  • Encourage meaningful conversations and actions toward inclusion

How You Can Participate

Take a moment to reflect on the spaces you visit every day; at work, in your community, or within public services. Consider questions like:

  • Are entrances, doors, and washrooms accessible to everyone?
  • Are reception areas welcoming and easy to navigate for all visitors, including those who are seated?
  • Are documents, websites, and services designed to be accessible for all members of the public?

If you notice barriers or opportunities for improvement, speak up and help encourage positive change.
