Member profile – Jahangir Nasimi

March 6, 2026

Jahangir (Jahan) Nasimi has been a dedicated employee at Bruce Power since 2011. He began his career in Information Technology (IT), later transitioning to Design Engineering, and then joining the Digital Transformation Office. He has since returned to IT as a Data Scientist.

Over the past year, Jahan has served as a Society delegate, bringing a valuable perspective to the Society’s AI Task Force and helping ensure members’ interests are represented as technology continues to evolve in the workplace.

In this role, he supports a workforce made up largely of data science and cybersecurity analysts. He works to welcome new members who have relocated to the area and connects them with union resources, training opportunities, and equity initiatives. He says the opening of the Society’s office in Tiverton has strengthened engagement by creating a local space where members can meet, access support, and rebuild community after years of virtual work.

Jahan believes leadership is about helping others succeed and strengthening connections. He encourages members to get involved as delegates, noting that participation gives members a direct voice in decisions that impact their workplace and their community.
