You are invited to join a Lunch and Learn on gender-based violence prevention, including how one community organization supports people experiencing gender-based violence. This event is part of marking Canada’s National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence Against Women, which commemorates the 1989 mass shooting at Montreal’s École Polytechnique.
Hosted by Sisters United as part of the 16 Days of Activism on Gender-Based Violence, the Lunch and Learn will feature Janelle Eisler of Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre in Cobourg. Cornerstone provides a shelter for people fleeing violence, as well as counselling and other forms of support.
Following a presentation, members will have the opportunity to ask questions of Ms. Eisler.
