On Monday, September 3, Society members will take part in Labour Day events across Ontario. The Toronto parade is the largest event in the country.

The annual celebration has its roots in the labour movement’s fight for an eight-hour work day and celebrates the gains unions have struggled to achieve on behalf of all workers, such as better wages, health and safety regulations, pensions, parental leave, same-sex spousal benefits and pay equity, gains which have improved the quality of life for all of us.

Please come out with your family and join fellow union members at the Labour Day Parade in Toronto or an event in your community.

Please note that due to the lockout of IATSE Local 58 members currently ongoing at Exhibition Place the parade will not go to the CNE as usual and terminate instead at Lamport Stadium near Queen St. W. and Dufferin St.

Will you come?
