Labour Council Diversity Networks

June 27, 2017

The Toronto and York Region Labour Council has a growing number of Diversity Networks that it invites union members, including SEP members, to take part in. The networks allow workers to organize within their ethno-cultural community, creating a bridge to workers who may not speak English as a first language. Among the existing networks are the Chinese Workers Network, Filipino Workers Network and Tamil Workers Network. Somali, Ehiopian and Eritrean networks are also in the process of being setup.

If you are interested in more information, including how to start a new network within the Diverse Workers Network program, contact Labour Council representative Kiruthiha Kulendiren at [email protected] or 416 441-3663 x 221.
