International Women's Day 2016

On March 8, the world marks International Women’s Day. This day celebrates women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements, while also reminding one another of the work still left to reach true gender parity.

Events are held in many communities throughout Ontario on or around March 8. The Society is aware of the following events. If you would like to add additional events to this list, please e-mail Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler.

  • Mary Spratt Breakfast, Saturday, March 5, 9-10:30AM, Steelworkers Hall, 25 Cecil Street, Toronto, tickets $10
  • Toronto rally, march and fair: Saturday, March 5, 11AM rally at OISE (252 Bloor St. W.), 1PM march departing from OISE, 2PM fair at Ryerson University, 55 Gould St.
  • Peel Region IWD Celebration and Brunch, Saturday, March 5, 11AM-2PM, Capitol Banquet Centre, 6435 Dixie Rd., Mississauga, tickets are $40, proceeds go to charities assisting women
