June 17, 2021

The Society is deeply saddened by the death of Ashish Tiwari, the first Society member to die of COVID-19. A devoted husband, father and colleague, Ashish passed away on May 24.Head shot photo of Ashish Tiwari

Ashish was a Senior Technical Engineer who worked in planning and development on the Safe Storage Project for Ontario Power Generation. He was a Power of YOU Award nominee, and recognized by his colleagues as a humble and caring friend and mentor.

In addition to his passion for his work, Ashish loved to share his culture with his colleagues. As part of the Safe Storage Diwali celebration, Ashish would bring samosas and sweets to share.

Ashish joined OPG in 2004 as a Fuel Handling Control Tech.

“We offer our deepest condolences to Ashish’s wife Disha, his children Helly, Keya and Aryan, and all of his friends co-workers,” said Society President Michelle Johnston.

The Society has reached out to Ashish’s family to offer support through this most difficult time.
