Hydro One Local’s John Cameron retires

July 30, 2015

Long-time Hydro One Local unit director John Cameron has, after decades of service to Hydro One and The Society, decided to retire.

An elected representative since 1987 — before The Society even became a certified union — Cameron has served in many capacities including delegate, unit director, bargaining group vice-president, and Society Building Committee chair, and he’s been a strong leader on health and safety issues.

“John’s leadership and commitment to health and safety will be missed by all of us,” said Hydro One LVP Jim Botari. “Although it is sad that John is leaving us, we should be happy that he is leaving on his own terms after an illustrious 35-year-career and joining the ranks of the retired.”
