ABOUT |
The Health and Safety Advisory Committee (HSAC) serves as a strategic advisory body within the Society of United Professionals, dedicated to advancing the health, safety, and overall well-being of Society members across all workplaces. Drawing on expertise from diverse sectors and supported by staff advisors and subject matter specialists, the committee provides guidance, recommendations, and analysis to the Executive Board, Local Vice Presidents, and Certified Health and Safety Representatives. While it does not hold decision‑making authority, the HSAC plays a central role in shaping health and safety priorities by developing proposals, reviewing workplace trends, supporting mental health initiatives, and promoting compliance with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. Through its collaborative work with internal representatives and external safety partners, the committee helps foster a proactive, informed, and prevention‑focused safety culture that empowers members and strengthens workplace protections across all bargaining units.
