The Society of Energy Professionals represents more than 8,000 professional employees in the electricity industry in Ontario, including engineers, scientists, supervisors and finance specialists.
Originally formed in 1948, The Society has made improvements to the industry for more than 50 years. The Society advocates for long-term, evidence-based planning and decision-making in the energy sector. This will ensure that Ontarians have the safest, and most reliable, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy system possible.A democratic organization, members of The Society vote on everything from the organization’s constitution and dues increases to collective agreements and budgets. Membership in The Society is voluntary.
The Society of Energy Professionals is Local 160 of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, based in Washington, D.C., USofA, with 80,000 members in the U.S. and Canada.
