ESA Local reached tentative agreement

January 29, 2016

The Electrical Safety Authority Local announced it reached a tentative agreement on January 29 after months of difficult bargaining.

The ESA Local bargaining team, led by Local Vice President Robert Mitchell, held information sessions for Local members ahead of the ratification vote.

Among the highlights of the tentative two-year deal are:

  • 1.75% wage increase in each year of the contract
  • Performance pay maintained at 1.75% with a structural change to incentive pay (1.5% for performance pay, .25% for incentive pay)
  • No increase in pension contributions for the first year of the contract, the second year of the contract will see .15% above and below the year’s maximum pensionable earnings
  • Maintained the $10 million contribution trigger with reduced levels to reflect contribution increase

For more information on the ESA Local ratification process, ESA Local members should contact their local representative.
