The Society of United Professionals recently hosted an Equity Summit working session, bringing together members and leaders for a thoughtful and collaborative day focused on the future of equity work within the union. Through interactive discussions and reflection, participants explored the Society’s current equity efforts, identified areas of strength and opportunities for deeper impact, and considered how to better support equity-deserving members beyond awareness-building and events. Conversations throughout the day centered on member experience, trust, inclusion, representation, and the unique role unions can play in advancing meaningful equity in the workplace. The summit concluded with a forward-looking discussion on priorities and next steps, helping shape a stronger and more inclusive path forward for the Society and its members.
